Custom Birthstone Ring | Personalized Family Jewelry
This listing is for one ring with multiple birthstones.
The stones are set on a copper ring shank and electroformed with a thick copper layer. You have to option to have the final metal finish of either raw copper, fine silver plate, or gold plated.
Each ring will be wildly different as you can select up to eight different birthstones and three different metal choices. The stones we use are raw so no two will be the same. The exception is moonstone where we use a cabochon, but each is still one of a kind. Each ring will be as unique as you, just like mother nature made 'em!
Leave us a message with the birthstones needed (make sure to read below for corresponding stone/month). If you have a specific order, make note of that as well.
The following birthstones are available: Garnet - January Amethyst - February Aquamarine - March Herkimer Diamond - April Emerald - May Moonstone - June Ruby - July Peridot - August Sapphire - September Opal - October Topaz - November Turquoise - December
Electroforming is the process of building up copper deposits on any object. The process can be very slow and it almost has a mind of its own. Sometimes there are striations in the copper, sometimes pits, sometimes there are little copper spheres. The results are always beautiful and unexpected making each piece entirely unique. Each piece had been cleaned up by hand and finished in the tumbler. The copper is absolutely raw... no added chemicals or sealants.
To maintain the finish as long as possible, avoid prolonged exposure to water as well as harsh chemicals. The copper will oxidize and darken over time giving it a warm deep finish. This is natural and every oxidation is unique to the person who wears it and the environment in which they live. The copper grows with you. You can bring back the original sheen by gently rubbing it with a soft polish cloth. Greening may happen. It doesn't happen to everyone. I leave the metals raw to avoid causing any reactions to additional chemicals. Rhodium-plate and gold-plate will not tarnish.
This is a custom piece. We cannot offer refunds. Please make sure the size you are ordering is the correct size as there is a fee for resizing.
