When I was in school finishing my Fine Arts degree, I discovered yoga. Well, I had already known about yoga, I had practiced yoga on and off for 10 years, but I took a yoga class in my final semester that left me addicted, changed. It was like something lit up inside of me. For the first time ever, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. So after I got my degree, I went for a different certificate, my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification.
That is basically the origin of Drishti Handmade.
I wanted to make and wear things that shared my love of my practice and promoted positivity, love and peace. What began as stamped cuffs, turned into crystal jewelry, and then malas. And it continues to evolve.

Drishti is a practice in yoga. In meditation or an asana, drishti is your eye gaze. Usually it is at your fingertips, or off the tip of your nose or at your bellybutton. But drishti can be bigger. My guru told me this. Energy goes where intention flows. So, to me, drishti is the commitment to a goal or a set of ideals.

The day to day of Drishti Handmade flows between my practice, teaching, and me working with my two hands in my garage studio. I don't want to say I'm alone, because I always have my four-legged helpers at my feet.

I hope you enjoy Drishti Handmade! I've put my heart into it.

A portion of the proceeds from every Drishti Handmade purchase is donated to charity. To see who we are donating to this month, check out the Drishti Handmade Facebook or Instagram page.

Namaste.
